BAA and UK Airports
We have a long history with airports – going back to 1995. But in those days it was just BAA (The British Airports Authority).
The original mark was designed by Wolff Olins but we got to filter it through all parts of the business and there were plenty spread far and wide – even overseas.
The ‘Project Process’ was particularly rewarding. It took just over two years of our lives and breaks down everyones responsibilities (and accountabilities) with a construction project valued at over £250m. It was so successful the Institute of Civil Engineers adopted it as their de facto project process. On the back of its success, we went on to develop ‘the son of’ – The Minor Projects Process.
A full identity review followed in 2000 and we were able to rationalise and simplify the business comms.
Then, in 2009, we had the opportunity to add some personalisation to the airports’ branding to give each a stronger sense of place.
