Way back when, we were one of the agencies working on through-the-line comms material for Cable & Wireless. Wolff Olins had decided ‘circles’ was the way to go for all product or service covers to supply ‘focus’ so it was our job to think of as many things as we could that fitted the bill. From surfboarding wax to yoyos to pizzas – we got them all in.
But we were allowed a little more ‘wiggle’ room on adverts. This one celebrated a new transatlantic pipeline to the USA and beyond – linking the world with high speed telephony and data. We produced a single slip-in sheet to the FT – the only way we could get the message across to the top City CEOs. The response was unprecedented with a 70% response.
