Gatwick Go – Onward travel information
We’ve become experts in onward travel planning for airports – getting passengers onto the right mode of transport to their destinations. Sometimes there’s only one option but in most cases there are choices to be made. Typically these choices involve cost or time.
With Gatwick, the challenge was to break up the information into geographic ‘sections’ without too much overlap. The final suite of leaflets were based on North, South, East and West with additional leaflets for London and Local travel.
Format was important so the leaflets all folded down to A6 – to fit in jacket pockets or handbags.
Each leaflet covered all modes of transport to that area.
Custom-made dispensers were designed and tested to hold 4,000 leaflets at a time (otherwise Gatwick staff would be filling them up daily!). In total, and for economies of scale, we print 400,000 leaflets at a time – normally twice a year. This allows flexibility to amend when the transport operators alter services.
Additionally, each dispenser and leaflet featured QR codes for the destinations if the user would prefer the information on their phone or tablet.
